The Method Of "Old" Guitarist Learn The Guitar
(Share this Blog, would be appreciated, thank you)
Do you wanna know how, Eddie Van Halen, Ace Frehley, Brian May, and more more guitarist learn guitar before the internet? Now that you have that curiosity, then today I will tell the method they had use when there's no internet back then. So, pack right in and jump off... to read of course.
Method #1 : Music School or Music Course
This is obvious of course, they join music school to learn music or they find guitar teacher to teach them. Guitarist that join music school or music teacher course is :
- Paul Gilbert
- Jason Becker
- Marty Friedman
- Etc.
They of course learn many stuff from their teacher to show them what to do and don't, but this is not the only way that guitarist learn, then let's go to the second method
What I mean about "self-taught" is not completely learn by yourself, but like Marty Friedman said, "Self-taught means that you learn from all the people."
Now that's the most use method by many "old" legend guitarist, they learn from other people and write down those knowledge.
That's why most guitarist have their own "sound" because they don't know about other sound, maybe they listen to records of other guitarist, but they can't search how to play this x song, because there is no internet.
Method #3 : Hearing From Records
Now, this is also a popular method back then, how does it work? Well, they play a record and try to replicate the sound. Yes, it is difficult, but back then there is a little to no choice. They passionate about it, they never gave up and will never... maybe there is, but those guitar gods, they never gave up, why would you?
Conclusion
Now I'm not saying this is the best method, but the way I learn guitar, is to try like it's the 70s, 80s, or 90s, where there is no internet, try to learn more by listening, don't always depends on the internet, don't depend on tabs all the time.
I'm not saying don't, just try to limit yourself from the internet, because you just searching the easy way. Try to start hard and difficult, because every hard beginning, there is always a easy future.
Thank you so much that you had come by to my blog, hopes my tips and information will entertain you and bring you a better future as a master of the guitar,
Regards, Rai.
